Processing For Merchants
IntelliPay Forms Alliance Partnership With ROI Direct.com
June 25, 2000

ROI Direct.com, an e-Business application service provider (ASP) of customizable E-commerce, E-marketing and online customer care solutions for mid-sized businesses, today announced an alliance with ASP Intellipay(TM), a leading Internet payment provider. The alliance joins a growing trend toward collaboration among E-commerce technology providers, merchant banks, and payment processors.

Often formed to alleviate uncertainties involved in choosing a payment provider, such alliances are particularly attractive to emerging dot-com businesses and traditional brick-and-mortar retailers who may find themselves needing to amend an existing merchant account or obtain a new one in order to participate in E-commerce.

"We're very pleased about our partnership with ROI Direct," says Dick Hilly, Director of Business Development at IntelliPay, a wholly owned subsidiary of Pacific Web Works. "Rather than attempt to be everything to everybody, we decided to focus our skills in credit card processing and fraud detection and leverage the core competencies of partners. ROI Direct has developed a superb integrated suite of applications for conducting E-commerce, which we believe will be very compelling to our clients who plan to sell online or upgrade their online services."

IntelliPay was founded in 1996 as an electronic check processor and has become a leading provider of secure E-payment products and services to B2B and B2C Internet merchants. Through its network and relationships with key trading partners, IntelliPay gives merchants the ability to conduct real-time credit card and electronic check settlement.

To date, the company has completed proprietary certifications with FDC, NDC, NOVA, Vital, and FTB, making it one of the most universal online payment solutions available. In addition to a newly published XML Web site interface, IntelliPay has developed a set of business rules to provide extended processing capability, including enhanced capabilities for fraud screening, a means of reducing merchant risk that few online processors offer.

IntelliPay's user interface provides secure, real-time data streaming of merchant transactions and can be integrated into any B2B or B2C facilitator, including online malls, trading platforms, vertical portals, and bill presentment systems.

"The issues surrounding payment are the most sensitive parts of any E-commerce venture, and confusion or concern about payments often interrupt or stall businesses' attempts to start selling online," says Hilly. "Hence, our agreement with ROI Direct should prove to be beneficial to all parties."

Butch Winters, CEO of ROI Direct, echoes Hilly's opinion. "Some things translate directly from offline merchandising to E-commerce. Yet the banking world is teeming with varying rules and regulations, so the need for a designated online merchant account provider is particularly strong. It's important that online vendors choose wisely in selecting a payment processor. IntelliPay, with its certification across most payment platforms and substantial existing client base, proves it is a reliable Internet payment provider, whose services we feel more than comfortable recommending to our clients."
